A Semester In Social Media

This semester I learned a lot of different techniques and ways to apply them through various forms of social media. I ended up getting pretty attached to my business and had developed a layout for the shop in my head.

My favorite forms of social media were Blogger, Facebook and Twitter. I did not think I would enjoy the blog postings as much as I did. I really liked how easy it was to set up a page and then refining the page over the next couple weeks to get the look that I wanted. I leaned a lot of little tips and tricks with Facebook that I had no idea existed before this class. Twitter was by far the simplest and easiest to use, and I think that is what they aim for. I think that every business should have some sort of blog or website that is updated regularly.

My least favorite was Vine. I just do not see the appeal and too me it was not really that serious of a platform. By no means do I see it as useless, it just did not grab my attention. Instagram was hard for me to do because I do not have the ability to take pictures of luxury cars and expensive things on a daily basis. It is one of my personal favorites and I think that it is very under utilized by business in general.

If I actually owned this business I would make sure to update a blog on a weekly or biweekly basis. I would have a Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, all with weekly updates. YouTube would be used from time to time, but I could see myself uses Instagram video much more. Even though the work load was heavy at times, I enjoyed this class.

Monocle Motors: Now in Your Pocket

We are excited to announce our new Monocle Luxury Motors App for all Android and iOS devices. This is been something we have been trying to get off the ground for some time now and the day is finally here.

What exactly is the Monocle Luxury Motors App? We refer to it as a "virtual garage" where you can add your vehicles and see other people's vehicles as well. It isn't just pictures either. From here on after having work done at our shop we will complete a detailed profile on your vehicle (for free) and upload it straight to the app. This has many benefits, from seeing how others have had their cars tuned to having a virtual record of everything that has been done to your vehicle as well as a detailed record of all vehicles that you have owned.

Another feature is the social aspect of the app. Scheduling for everything at Monocle can be done through the app. Any events will be on the app and you will be able to see who is attending and highlights of that event, pictures and videos.

One day we would like to be offer transactions through the app itself, for purchasing things like wheels and tires to certificates and donating to charitable events.

The app is available for download right now, so be sure to install it and tell us what you think.

No Shave November

Source
No Shave November is an event raising cancer awareness. The big idea behind it is that you will donate the money you would have spent on grooming to cancer research, but according to the official website this is not the only way to participate. Many of us can not participate because of policies at our work places. We are encouraging anyone who can participate in this month long event to do so. This is a link to the official website. For those who can not, we are offering an alternative.

At Monocle Luxury Motors our team of Automotive Technicians will not come in contact with a razor or scissors all month long. They each have their own "team". All it takes for you to join in is to stop into Monocle and make a donation to select whose team you would like to be on. (Jason, Eric, Chuck, Ray or Michael). Your picture will be taken and you will be added to their donation board.

On Saturday December 5th we will be making our official donation and will be having a small get together with all five teams. If you would like you can help trim your team leaders hair and beard. We will also be recognizing everyone who participated themselves. There is no excuse for you to not participate in this great cause. Come stop into MLM before the end of November.
